YouTube RPM by country and niche (2026)
RPM is what a channel earns per 1,000 views after YouTube takes its share. The same video can earn several times more from a US audience than from a Southeast Asian one. The table below is the estimate DeepNiche uses in Channel Analysis and the Monetization Checker: an RPM range per niche group at US level, multiplied by a factor for each market.
Estimated RPM (USD per 1,000 views)
These ranges are for comparing markets, not an income promise. A channel’s real RPM depends on ad season (highest in November–December), video length, the share of Shorts and audience quality.

Shorts RPM is much lower than long-form
Shorts revenue comes from a shared pool, so Shorts RPM is usually a small fraction of long-form RPM. If ad revenue is the goal, use Shorts to pull viewers into long videos on the same topic.
Pick a market with data
High-RPM niches are usually crowded. Use DeepNiche Multi-market to check the same topic in 23 countries: an opportunity score built from open-door signals, Niche Score and RPM, plus each country’s seasonal calendar.
FAQ
What is the difference between RPM and CPM?
CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions. RPM is what the creator actually earns per 1,000 views (all views, including those without ads) after YouTube’s share. RPM is always lower than CPM.
Which country has the highest YouTube RPM?
In this table, US, Australian, Swiss and Norwegian audiences pay the most. Competition there is also the highest — compare Niche Score and open-door signals before choosing.
Does the creator’s country matter?
Mostly no. RPM follows where the viewers are, not where the creator lives.
